Organizational Leadership

Here is an overview of our Organizational Leadership, which includes the Executive Board, Council of Representatives, and various Committees. These dedicated groups are comprised of passionate volunteers who work together to guide and strengthen the organization.

The Executive Board oversees the strategic direction and decision-making processes, while the Council of Representatives represents the diverse voices and interests of our members. Our Committees—both standing and ad-hoc—focus on specific projects and initiatives, ensuring that our goals and objectives are met.

Together, these volunteer leaders play a crucial role in shaping the future of the organization, and their commitment drives our mission forward.

According to the By-laws, the Officers of this Association shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Public Relations Coordinator. These five (5) duly-elected officers shall serve as an Executive Board.

According to the By-laws, this Association shall have a Council of Representatives, consisting of five (5) duly elected officers, regional representatives, and representatives from affiliated organizations. The Council of Representatives advises the Executive Board on community priorities, assists with programming and fundraising, and supports organizational goals, policies, and procedures. The Council of Representatives may support the Executive Board by serving on ad-hoc committees.

Logo Redesign CommitteeDuring the 55th Biennial Conference, members requested the creation of a Logo Redesign Committee to oversee a competition for a new logo design.
2027 MDA Conference CommitteeHelp us plan our next biennial conference in spring 2027! Committee members will determine the location, date, and theme. We are seeking members to serve in roles such as chairperson, registration coordinator, workshop coordinator, accessibility coordinator, volunteer coordinator, sponsorship and exhibitor coordinator, and tech support.
2027 Election CommitteeHelp us plan the next election! This includes organizing campaign materials, coordinating candidate presentations, preparing the agenda, and counting votes. The election will take place at the biennial MDA Conference. We are seeking at least three members to support the election planning process.
