Below is an overview of the Michigan Deaf Association’s leadership structure, including the Executive Board, Council of Representatives, and Committees. These dedicated groups are made up of passionate volunteers who work together to support, strengthen, and guide the organization.

The Executive Board oversees strategic planning and organizational decisions, while the Council of Representatives helps represent the diverse voices and interests of our members across Michigan. Our Committees focus on specific projects, events, and initiatives that support MDA’s mission and future goals.

Together, these volunteer leaders play an important role in building community, promoting accessibility, and supporting the future of the organization.

Committees

CommitteeDetails
By-laws CommitteeThis standing committee welcomes active members who are interested in helping strengthen and improve the organization.
Logo Redesign CommitteeDuring the 55th Biennial Conference, members requested the establishment of a Logo Redesign Committee to oversee the development and selection process for a new MDA logo.
2027 MDA Conference Committee

The 2027 MDA Conference Committee will help plan and organize the Spring 2027 Michigan Deaf Association Conference. Members will support accessibility, workshops, activities, community outreach, and event planning.

We welcome active members who want to help create an inclusive and successful conference experience for the Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing community across Michigan.

2027 Election CommitteeThis committee helps organize the upcoming election process, including campaign materials, candidate presentations, agenda preparation, and vote counting during the Biennial MDA Conference. We are seeking at least three volunteers to assist with election planning.
